A little R&R and many FIRST

Haha, I’m finally home for the whole day. I can’t believe I’m saying this seeing as how I was begging for people to go out with just a week ago. But this week has been quite jam packed, so I guess I’m thankful for today to be less hectic and allowing me to sleep in.

Currently jobless right now because the work at Aaron’s aunt’s spa lasted for three days only. However, my cousin is currently helping me schedule an interview for a job that would last the first two weeks of the December holiday. Hopefully I can get it because the pay is good and I would really like to have the money, haha, I mean who doesn’t.

Working at the spa was quite fun, the person who I was working under was usually busy and when I got one task done, it would take a while before she gives me something else to do because she has to figure it out herself first. Haha, I remember the second day. I hardly did anything that day, except a couple of pen and paper work, because she was struggling over how to do some inventory thing. So Aaron and I basically just sat around reading blogs and surfing the net.

The third day was more interesting partly because I had overslept and rushed like a mad person to get to work. When I reached, there wasn’t much for me to do so I entertained myself by drawing Fergie. Haha, I just copied the cover of the December issue of Lime. Aaron went nuts over the drawing, maybe because I didn’t do a very good job and disfigured her quite badly. He is suppose to scan the drawing but I’m certain he has yet to do so. When he does get down to scanning it, I shall post it and you all can laugh at it too. Haha.

Collapsed from laughing.

Yesterday was a day of many firsts. I went to play pool outside for the first time with some class people. Usually the only place I play pool at is at Darren’s house, but ever since his mom sold the pool table, it’s been quite long since I last held a cue. Now that I think back, we should have made more use of the pool table he had before it got sold. Haha, anyway, playing pool at parkway was quite cheap. It cost about $15 for 2 tables and we played for about 2 hours plus.

I think I got lucky that day and got really excited when a ball unexpectedly went in. I got so excited that I jumped with a cue stick in my hand and nearly puncture a hole in the ceiling. Haha, how should I know that the place had such low ceilings?

Anyway, we had lunch at parkway and I had Tom Yam Ban Mian for the first and probably last time. I didn’t expect it to be so hot, because usually Tom Yam stuffs that are sold in public cater to those who can’t really handle really hot food. I even took a small plate of chilli with me and totally didn’t use it at all because the soup was already hot enough to burn a hole in my tongue. But I guess it added more flavour to the soup and all the vegetables and other ingredients didn’t taste as bland.

Isabelle and I went over to Jomaine’s house because I had no where else to go for the next two hours and I didn’t want to go home just to go out 15 minutes later. It was my first time at Jomaine's house, haha. We watched the first 4 episodes of Grey’s Anatomy and ate quite a lot in the process. For the first time in my life, I saw instant popcorn being made. Haha, Jomaine popped this packet into the microwave and let the kernels pop for about three minutes before taking the packet out. I know that instant popcorn is made this way because I’ve seen these packets in NTUC before, but I’ve never really seen the process of popping the popcorn. And of course, I was smart enough to take a video of it, haha, so for those out there who live under a rock like me, you can see how instant popcorn is made.

I left at about 4.00 to go to Tampinese to cut my hair. Initially I wanted to cut my hair at 4.00 but my mom said that the hairdresser had someone schedule the day before at that time slot, so I had to settle for a 5.00 timeslot instead. When I got there, I had to wait quite a while because these pair of girls was having their hair styled for prom. I asked for suggestion on a new hairstyle but the hairdresser said my hair was too short. Haha, too short okay! So in the end, it was back to same hair style which is really getting quite boring.

I made my way over to Tampinese Gym later to meet up with Amanda and Zhi Wen, haha. I can see a lot of “Oo” coming my way, but the reason why I met them was to go to the gym together and I’m the kind of person who doesn’t really enjoy doing stuff alone. It was the first time I paid to go to a public gym. I was quite embarrassed at the gym because I couldn’t really lift a lot of the stuff there, haha. Like when doing the bicep curl, I could only lift a measly 20kg. ><’’ There was this really funny machine that I used which trained the inner thigh. It was something you would probably see at KK hospital in the maternity ward where their beds have this device for pregnant women to prop their legs up and open for doctors to check on their baby. Haha, I guess you can say that using it was rather obscene so I made sure that I used it quickly and left before anyone notice what was going on. Did some cardio but burnt about only 200 calories because I had arrived late and had to leave soon to get home for dinner.

Right now, I’m quite well rested and wishing for something to do tomorrow. Haha, maybe I’ll bug my cousin about the interview later. For now, enjoy this video which I had to risk my life to take.

He claims to be a muse and it certainly got me amused.
